Old Dyer Library

Description

Glass plate negative photo of the old Dyer Library on Main Street (now Stepping Out Dance Center). The James Curtis House (1827) can be seen on the right. The Old Dyer Library was built in 1893 by architect Horace G. Wadlin. Previously the library operated out of the basement of City Hall. In 1955, the library moved to the Deering Mansion. The location has been a dance studio for many years.
